Fall Protection & Anchor Systems
Roof edge protection, anchors, guardrails, fixed ladders and cable lifeline systems, installed, tested and certified across Manchester, the North West and the UK.
Fall protection systems installed, tested and certified
Anyone working on a roof or near an open edge needs protecting from a fall, and as the building owner or manager it’s your responsibility to make sure the right systems are in place and kept in safe working order. The HSE’s work at height guidance is clear that permanent protection, such as guardrails and anchor systems, should come first.
Rope Access Maintenance UK designs, installs, tests and certifies fall protection systems for hotels, offices, apartment blocks, industrial sites and construction projects. That includes anchor points, guardrails and handrails, edge protection, fixed access ladders and cable-based lifeline systems. We are approved installers of SFS fall protection systems, and our IRATA-certified technicians can reach anchors and fixings on any part of a building by rope.
We’re based in Ashton-under-Lyne, near Manchester, and work across the North West and the rest of the UK.

Why choose us for fall protection?
Roof edge protection
Roof edge protection is the simplest and safest way to protect people on a roof, because it works without anyone needing to clip on. We install free-standing and fixed guardrail systems, parapet extensions and edge protection for plant areas, rooflights and access routes, and we can supply temporary edge protection for construction and refurbishment work.
We install fall protection and we work at height on it every day, so we know what a system needs to be safe and practical to use. As approved SFS installers, we fit systems to the manufacturer’s specification and hand over full documentation, so your safety file is complete from day one.
Annual inspection and recertification
Fall protection doesn’t stop once it’s installed. Anchors, lifelines, guardrails and ladders need inspecting at least every 12 months, in line with BS 7883 and the manufacturer’s guidance, and after anything that might have damaged them. We keep a record of every system we look after, remind you when testing is due, and issue a new certificate after every visit. If anything fails, we take it out of use straight away and quote to repair or replace it.
How it works
- Survey: We visit the site, look at how people access the roof or work area, and check any existing anchors, guardrails or lifelines.
- Design and quote: We recommend the right fall protection for the building and send a clear, fixed quote.
- Installation or testing: We install new systems or test existing ones, working to the manufacturer's specification and the relevant standards.
- Certification: You receive test certificates, installation records and photos for your building's safety file.
- Annual recertification: We remind you when the next inspection is due and keep your systems certified year after year.

It depends on how often people go up there and what they do. Guardrails or edge protection are usually the first choice for regular access. Where that isn't practical, anchor points or a cable lifeline system let people work safely while attached. We'll recommend the right option after a site survey.
