At Rope Access Maintenance UK, we understand that you may have questions about our services and the techniques we use.
Below are answers to the questions we get asked most, from what rope access is to how safe it is and what it costs. We work across the whole of the UK.
Rope access is a safe way of working at height using two ropes, one to work from and one as a back-up, along with specialist kit. Trained technicians abseil or climb to reach high or awkward areas for maintenance, repairs, cleaning and inspections. It is used on high-rise buildings, hotels, offices, stadiums, churches and industrial sites where scaffolding or MEWPs would be slow, costly or impossible to set up.
Rope access offers several advantages, including:
Cost efficiency: no scaffolding or MEWP hire, so lower equipment and labour costs.
Quick setup: we can be on site and working fast.
Minimal disruption: less impact on your building, staff, guests and the street below.
Safety: highly trained, IRATA-certified technicians work to strict procedures.
Yes. Rope access has one of the best safety records of any work at height method when carried out by trained professionals. Our technicians are certified by IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association), every job has a full risk assessment and method statement, and all of our equipment is inspected and recorded.
Every job is priced individually, as it depends on the size of the building, the work involved and how long it will take. In most cases rope access is cheaper than scaffolding or a MEWP because there is no hire, erection or road closure costs. Get in touch for a free, no-obligation quote.

No. We are a rope access contractor, not a training company, so we do not run IRATA or rope access courses. If you want to train as a rope access technician, IRATA approved training companies run Level 1, 2 and 3 courses across the UK. You can find one on the IRATA website.
All of our technicians are IRATA certified, and every job is supervised by an IRATA Level 3.
